Laura began her Pilates practice at BodyTonic 8 years ago, seeking a regimen that would ease her own ongoing back pain due to Scoliosis and disc herniation. Personally experiencing the healing and strengthening power that a regular Pilates practice provides, Laura decided to follow her passion and became certified at BodyTonic, under the tutelage of Jennifer DeLuca. She has a strong interest in helping others who also live with physical discomfort due to injury, as well as individuals who are looking for a practice that embodies physical strengthening, emotional and mental centering, and focus. Laura embodies a nurturing and empowering teaching methodology, finding the fine balance between pushing a student to the next level, while also being mindful of each student’s unique physicality, and both mental and physical challenges on any given day, always with a supportive smile or joke.
Being a firm believer in the importance of continued education, Laura regularly attends classes and workshops to build on her training and knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology.
A native of Brooklyn, NY, Laura relocated to Austin, TX two years ago, but her native city called her home. She is thrilled to return to the warm and welcoming BodyTonic community. When not teaching, Laura enjoys traveling, cooking, and most significantly, hanging out with her most adorable and inspiring blind, or as she likes to say “differently-abled” pup, Bella.
